I'm not believing the whole story either. Too many things do not make sense, as you have correctly pointed out. But like so many "conspiracy" theories, there may be some elements of truth in the original story.

Many different things in the story don’t make any sense to me either.

A very long convoy of federal vehicles with multiple ‘gunship’ vehicles leading and tailing the convoy was seen and reported by no one else in an area of busy oil field construction. On the only East-West Interstate in the state.

As others have said, Color me Skeptical.
