Uh huh. I'd bet big money that these "challenges" are specifically known as ad hominem, false choice, tu quoque, red herring, begging the question, guilt by association, etc.

...and now that I’ve read the article, I see that I’ve had lost that big money. It’s not even debate in any traditional (i.e. “white”, “privileged”, “racist”) sense, over the question asked, it’s just screaming about whitey.
