Not to mention, there is an amazing sense of shame and guilt that goes along with this. It takes a great deal of courage to come forward, especially for boys. You’d be surprised how many parents do not want to come forward also. They think they can handle it at home or in therapy without the embarrassment of the courts. The pervert goes on to rape again and again.

“Trauma” often irrupts when the self identifying ‘victim’
meets an underemployed lawyer and the statute of limitations has not run.
