I believe the agreement was that the last two survivors would share in the final toast, but last December three of the four were there and agreed that that would be it. The cognac is also with the goblet display, very moving. That’s just a great museum, I always leave there with a sense of awe and gratitude.

Yup, saw the event (the three Raiders there seemed pretty unamused by the public spectacle of what was always intended to be a private toast) streaming live on AF.gov.

One other thing to note: the bottle of cognac there now is the real bottle. Or at least the real 2nd bottle. Afraid that something would happen to it (iirc the first bottle was stolen in the early 1970s) it was kept in the possession of various Raiders over the years. The bottle that was on display prior to the final toast was a fake.
