Rem 700, 30-06, 165gr, 2700fps @150 yds. This was my best group of last year. I have a new 20MOA scope rail and am gonna stretch her legs this coming season.
Its been modernized but its the same receiver, barrel AND TRIGGER my dad bought me for $75 when I was 15

That's good shooting for a dear rifle but it will not hold it's mud out to 800 to 1000 meters. Try 168gr.Match King and a 24in. bull barrel button rifling 10x1 right hand. Add McMillan stock-Master trigger-Niteforce mildot 20 and 12 weeks at USMC sniper school.

My 30+ year old 700 ‘06 will make a group like that with a similar 165gr Nosler Partition hand load.
Never had a trigger issue either...
