I believe there are cultural dynamics (40 years of liberalism in particular) causing a lot of this ptsd stuff. People are now ill equipped to deal with hardships.
I have children who saw 18 months in a forward combat area and they don’t have PTSD.

Cultural, dietary and drug related. Plus some people are just bad people and should not be in the military (for starters).
