Toothpaste! Yes - it works, is readily available, and cheap. I use the Arm & Hammer type, then follow it up with auto-specific Plast-X, which is a combo plastic scratch remover and wax. I don’t know if it has a UV protector or not, but they look great when done.

TIP: have a spray bottle of water, and use it when you’re doing the toothpaste step. You need to keep it wet so you can polish the lens. Not so much as to wash off the toothpaste, but not to little or the cloth drags. When done the polish step, spray and wipe all of the toothpaste off, and dry the lens, then use the Plast-X.

It sure does work. I use a small amt on a wet fine grit scotchbrite pad to “lightly” scrub lens, rinse, and wipe with old t-shirt.

Also...got a lovebug prob on your vehicle? Use peanut butter. The oils in it somehow break down the bug, then wipe off. Though it should be done right away, or the bug oxidizes the paint.

Sugar ants? Apply a small mixture of Boric Acid powder and Caro syrup(about the size of a pea, smear a small amount on a piece of paper and place where you think they are coming in...ie, outlets, etc. It’s like “crack” for ants. haha.

Cut yourself? Apply some coffee grinds. Caffeine constricts vessels, therefore reduces/or stops non-arterial bleeding.

There are so many cheap, easy, remedies for so many things. Now, I’m not talking about “Kevin Trudeau Remedies”, but REAL remedies. In fact, I don’t know of any old remedy that has stopped being useful. But because the nation’s motto is “There’s a sucker born every minute”, so many are ‘taken in’ by modern-day newfangled products...that don’t work. Or, don’t work well. At times, I too am a sucker for an occasional bad product, but usually will often find a home remedy that will compete.
