None of the fast food restaurants can hold a candle to CFA. During the Christmas shopping season, I was in South Philly in a CFA drive thru line that had probably 20 cars in it. The Wendy’s drive thru was in full view the whole time I was waiting. Literally 2 cars went to Wendy’s as people were choosing to wait in the CFA line. I don’t think politics enters into this at all as many if not most of the folks in line were African Americans and likely vote lib. CFA quite simply has a superior product.

I wish we had one nearby. I’m pretty much done with KFC; not only are they ungodly expensive but the skin isn’t crispy anymore. The grocery store chix is better. Sad.

It’s because Chik-fil-A is darned good chicken. If you don’t want a dil-A sandwich try their tuna salad on wheat. The salads are good too. And oh those milk shakes.

Sorry KFC became corporate and lost that special touch the Colonel used to have

And owners of franchises as well. The only requirement is that they fix food and serve the Chik-fil-A way and in the friendly customer oriented manner.

http://www.chick-fil-a.com/Company/Franchise-Opportunity

From the Chick-Fil-A website ( for those who plan to open a franchise ):

The Chick-fil-A franchise opportunity represents an exceptional offering in the quick-service restaurant industry. For an initial financial commitment of $5,000, selected franchisees (who we call Operators) are granted the rights necessary to operate a franchised Chick-fil-A Restaurant business. The Chick-fil-A franchise opportunity requires that the individual be free of any other active business ventures and operate the Restaurant on a full-time, hands-on basis.

Chick-fil-A Operators must successfully complete an extensive, multi-week training program prior to commencing operation of a franchised Chick-fil-A Restaurant business.

With additional development courses and franchise support available, Chick-fil-A Operators are equipped to handle decisions and reap the rewards of a challenging business.
Become a franchised Chick-fil-A Restaurant Operator

You might want to continue researching an opportunity with Chick-fil-A if you:

* Are looking for a full-time, “hands-on” business opportunity.

* Have a proven track record in business leadership.

* Have successfully managed your personal finances.

* Are a results-oriented self-starter interested in growing a business.

* Are prepared to have no other active business venture.

This is not the right opportunity for you if you:

* Are seeking an investment or an equity position in a business.

* Want to sell property to Chick-fil-A, Inc.

* Are requesting that Chick-fil-A, Inc. build at a specified location.

* Are seeking multi-unit franchise opportunities.

* Would like to diversify your franchise portfolio.

How Much Does a Chick-Fil-A Franchise Cost?

If you’re short on cash, you’re in luck. You only need $5000 to get in the game at Chick-Fil-A, but you have to get in line to be considered for one of these Mega-Brands. Chick-Fil-A franchise only selects 75 to 80 of the 10,000 applicants they get each year. If you are still interested in Chick-Fil-A, read on.

Chick-Fil-A franchisees enter the network through a narrow corridor. In addition to a mandate for Sunday-closings, Chick-Fil-A will also be requesting approximately 50% of your store profits. Here is how it works... Chick-fil-A pays for the land, the construction and the equipment. It then rents everything to the franchisee for 15% of the restaurant’s sales plus 50% of the pretax profit remaining.

In other words, Chick-Fil-A takes 65% of your profit. Most franchise companies take 8%-10% of gross sales.

Although the company considers you a franchisee, it will feel more like a partnership to you and only those willing to follow the rules are invited. Chick-Fil-A wants experienced professionals with good credit and high ideals.

Training is described as a multi-week, extensive training program that has to be completed prior to opening, and you can’t be involved in any other business ventures before, during, or after applying.

You will not own the land on which your Chick-Fil-A franchise sits, nor will you own the building nor will you be allowed to select the location. Chick-Fil-A carries a thick rulebook and a big stick when it comes to their franchises, but smart investors with little capital won’t mind. Store closings are practically unheard of, and you should end up retiring with an incredible nest egg to make up for that initial goose egg. So, if you have a little cash, and want to hold hands with this giant, Chick-Fil-A may be the right opportunity for you.

They also have sweet tea-—you can buy it by the gallon. I keep it in the house and we drink a lot of it.

Cuts down on the number of Cokes we consume……….

They have unsweetened tea by the gallon, too.

I don’t often get there as the locations are far away crosstown, but when I do it’s just great, I love their Chicken Salad Sandwich. The other day when I went it was packed.

Church’s is Saudi-owned these days. They took pork products off their breakfast menu.

It’s mentioned about 2/3rds of the way down, here:

Their HQ is nearby, and we are acquaintances with the former president of Church’s, so I noticed when the above occurred.

From my trips to both KFC and CFA, I noticed that a KFC seem to run their stores perpetually understaffed, hence one reason for the customer service issues. I can’t blame the employees for the problems they causes.

CFA seems to give a employee(s) a specific task to do, enough to keep the busy bit it overworked. It shows in the service you receive
