Got news for you, Julia was way left but didn’t wear it on her sleeve. She is quoted as saying:

“I could never break bread at the same table with any Republican”.

...I would add that President George W. Bush awarded Julia the Medal of Freedom, in ‘03.

France awarded her the Legion of Honor. Harvard awarded her an honorary doctorate....fitting b/c she lived in Cambridge, Mass. for a long time.

Her enthusiasm was contagious.

Read that about Julia Child years ago. Elitist snobbery of the worst kind. Read her 1961 art of French cooking book and I wondered afterward what’s so gosh awful special about French cuisine.

That it’s better than German cooking?
