Zombies are just about the only politically correct villain left. Eventually, some group of morons will become convinced that they are zombies and demand they be re-labeled something like “Dead but ambulatory persons” because the traditional label offends them. Then comes the right to be employed while “In drag” and immunity from termination from employment merely for dropping chunks of rotting flesh all over the place.

"Partial Death Syndrome" in the British series In the Flesh. The zombies get drugs to help them control their craving for flesh and are mainstreamed into society. The show was actually more about homosexuality (in a coded, oblique way) than anything else.

*************

Actually there is a subgenre of short stories and a few novels where the application of politically correct language and privilege is applied to various monsters, some hostile, some hapless. The best ones are gut bustingly funny, as they point up the absurdity of PC spin on life.
