On Sunday, the bus relocated to the infield of the Sunland Park racetrack, home of the Sunland Derby, which in 2009 was Mine That Bird's last prep race before the Kentucky Derby. The day drew a record crowd of more than 18,600.

It's too bad the race call on TV was weak. Tom Durkin, who did the call, had a lapse but he is/was otherwise an all-time great. However, in that disappointing call is the shock of Mine That Bird winning. That reality couldn't be rehearsed 1,000 times with the result being so true yet flawed or flawed yet true.
