Senator Snort! Tnx for the memory! With that, bubbled up another Grin and Bear It standard, the Blowhard General with the HERO medal.

Yes, some great strips were and are funny.

Dilbert is funny. Calvin and Hobbes were funny. The difference in their styles couldn’t be more stark, but as an unknown cartoonist, I tip my hat to both. Beyond them, 1950s Peanuts could be funny. Nancy and Henry were just so freaking strange, they could be funny too, like Smokey Stover.

I have an autographed litho of this strip. One of the funniest cartoons of all times in my opinion.

Oh yes, I hate that comic too. It always shows that smug black kid with the hateful condescending scowl on his face.

I liked BC, Peanuts, and Bloom County.
Far Side was the best single pane.

I won’t even mention the worst.

Surprised that I saw Mallard Filmore mentioned only once in the best catagory...

But I sense universal disgust with Doonesbury. ;-)

The current guy drawing it is highly patriotic and injects a lot of “country” into it.

Agree mostly, except for one thing: if you're counting The Far Side as a "strip," it's the best ever.

L'il Abner is the greatest actual "strip" comic of all time. The Far Side doesn't qualify as a "strip," it's one panel.

my very favorite was, "For Better or Worse," and i was dismayed when Lynn Johnston retired about five years ago... and of course, Calvin and Hobbes... and BC...

i loathe Boondocks and Doonesbury...

Had to refresh my memory on “Boondocks.” The guy who drew it is a moonbat racist nutjob. It went defunct back in 2006.

Larry Elder named an award after him for Black public people who say dumb nonsense.

My favorites:

Calvin and Hobbes - The gold standard, IMHO.

Far Side

Foxtrot

Peanuts

Red Meat - Surreal, but sometimes achingly funny comic you see in a lot of alternative press publications. I hate you Milkman Dan!

My least favorites:

Dagwood

All of the Apartment 3G/Mary Worth type strips - I don’t like dramatic comic strips much.

This Modern World - vile ultra-lefty spew that you see in local alternative press publications, and on sites like DailyKos.
