There was nothing "accidental" about it. He put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. Yeah, I'd say that takes it out of the realm of mischance. Although I've had days when pretty much anything I actually hit was accidental... :-(

I’m surprised anyone that stupid lived to be 36.

I'm sure he knew that all guns are always loaded.
That did not help however.
NRA Gun Safety Rules will keep you safer :
Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot
Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use

Reading the article, this is what caught my attention.
" Just two months ago in Michigan, the vice president of the United Automobile Workers union, General Holiefield, mistakenly shot his wife in the stomach while cleaning a loaded gun. Fortunately, she survived the incident, and Holiefield pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges. ",/i>
Why no broader coverage, i wonder? Maybe it needs some traction now?

The girlfriend told authorities that the man had been drinking all day and was explaining to her that his three handguns are safe when they arent loaded, according to Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe. He demonstrated [how safe his unloaded guns were] by placing the guns against his head and pulling the trigger.Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the shooting, according to the sheriffs office. The mans name wasnt immediately released.
This accident had little to do with the gun(s) involved.
IMHO, alcohol is, hands down, the worst drug on the face of the earth. It causes more criminal violence, deadly assaults, accidental deaths, disease, and general societal misery than all other drugs combined.
I'm no Prohibitionist, and I'm totally against the phony and Tyrannical War on (some) Drugs; but the best thing for society would be to view alcohol in the clear light of the facts...

Three children, ages 7, 10, and 12, were home at the time but didnt witness the shooting, McCabe said.

He was probably too drunk to remember the rule about being drunk and handling guns. I was at a friend's house for a party. My friend decided he would show off one of his shotguns to another friend
after having had one too many beers. Boom! Wasn't supposed to be loaded; blew a hole in the floor and just missed his motorcycle in the garage below, not to mention his friend's feet. Pretty much everyone at the party decided it was time to leave, over 30 people cleared out! When a friend wants to show their gun to me, I make sure they're sober.

Guy still amazes me how he continues the demonstration. Of course by that time, noone really put any stock in what he was saying.

It’s actually all over the American alternative-news sites, but RT is the only one that didn’t block the story on copyright grounds.

Say what you want, but the man did know how to prove a point.
Would that be a “bullet point”?
