The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.

And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you...

Also ignored (as if it didn’t even exist) is the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 which generally bars the military from law enforcement activities within the United States.

According to Public Intelligence:

“…for the last two years, the President’s Budget Submissions for the Department of Defense have included purchases of a significant amount of combat equipment, including armored vehicles, helicopters and even artillery, under an obscure section of the FY2008 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the purposes of ‘homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities.

and the US government knows that civil uprisings are coming to a town near you just as soon as the fantasy of a healing economy is shattered, the US dollar fails, and unemployment goes to 30%+ in real numbers.

And, to you tough-talking Neo-Cons with your AR-15 rifles and a few thousand rounds of ammo, here is the reality: they will take your guns, and no, all your Second Amendment bluster aside, you are not going to do anything about it. You are not going to take on a platoon of Marines with state-of-the-art automatic weapons...

What the author fails to point out is that there are more effective alternatives to standoffs and conventional battles.

What the author fails at is basic math. Disregarding possible desertions, the USArmy could maybe, possibly, muster an army of 1,000,000. An Army of one million means a fighting force of 300,000 with a 2:1 ratio of support troops to front line combat troops. The US Army would be hard pressed to subdue Texas with only 300,000 combat troops let alone an entire region of the USA in open rebellion.

Most military will refuse to follow orders to confiscate weapons. Any CIC stupid enough to try it will likely get a big negatory from the Joint Chiefs anyway. They know it will trigger CWII.

The Military has wargamed going up agains’t the American public and everytime they lose.

Their tactics and preparations can be easily defeated thus:

1. Identify the regime collaborators and sympathizers, those who would rightly expect protection. This could be media, academia, business groups etc.

2. Target members of those groups.

3. Force the regime forces outside their own "protective envelope" where they cannot be challenged, onto the streets to protect regime supporters.

4. Target the regimes forces outside their protective envelope. One or two at a time. Daily.

This approach is best effected from as great a distance as possible. At no time should your individual plan be known to anyone but yourself and there should never be talk or collaboration with anyone on the subject.

A: A Senate bill would allow the president to restrict access to government or “critical infrastructure” networks in case of a “cybersecurity emergency.” But it has bipartisan support, and even critics admit it would not allow him to shut down all private Internet traffic.

Would that be a good thing?
Or would it provide the enemy with more intel?

Anyone and everyone who hopes for some idiotic 'Civil War II' -- Progressives versus hated Conservatives and vice-versa -- needs to take a BIG step back and rid their minds of the poisonous notion of raising weapons against their fellow countrymen. Absolutely everyone from top to bottom will be immediately sorry it happened the moment it began.

There's a difference between hope and need — the founders were patriotic Englishmen who stood up against their government when classically-recognized rights were denied. The Declaration spells out that the colonies did pursue peaceful resolutions, and that they suffered many abuses from their government which were rejected, rebuffed, and sometimes retaliated against.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace²but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

Consider this: The American Revolution was won with these tactics. It was ultimately "The Great Sniper War of 1776".

The American smiths developed...or more correctly refined...the Kentucky Long Rifle, Pennsylvania Long Rifle etc.

The differed from the smooth bore musket carried by the British regulars. The barrels were 30-40 inches long and rifled. They used a smaller caliber, longer bullet for stability.

And they were deadly out to 500yrds, easy.

The American "Militia" won the Revolutionary war, not the Continental Army. They did it with a sniping war of attrition.

Well thats good news because a platoon of marines is about all there are here in the states. I guess nobody told this genius that all the military are overseas fighting senseless wars. There are not enough “willing” military in the US to subjagate 3 cities much less go door to door over a continent and try to pick up guns.

It is amazing how math challenged most people are here. Here is another example. The way the Army is set up a division is about 10,000 strong. Sounds formidable but wait, you don't get 10,000 fighting troops. Because of support troops and logistics, you get maybe three fighting regiments of 1,000 per so about 3,000 troops(brigade) with actual rifles to close with the enemy. Now at any given moment one troop is sleeping, one is actually on patrol and the other is training etc. So a division is really 1,000 troops. So I wish these had wringers would DO THE MATH!
