I know. It's like starting a diesel engine. Does the clock start when you plug in the block heater, when you hit the switch for the glow plugs, or when you're finally ready to try the starter?

Really, I thought seven minutes was the shortest, not the longest.

It takes several minutes to prime the engine and 12-15 minutes of idling before the engine gets good and warm. Then and only then can you get a good ride in.

I apply this technique to both my wife and my motorcycle and I've been happily riding both for decades (although I did buy a new motorcycle a few years back).

The race ain't over until everybody gets to the finish line.
