Agreed.
Many good points, fairly well stated, and about four times as long as the average reader’s attention span.

If producing a novel when an essay would suffice, you’re a) disorganized, b) showing off, c) being paid by the word, or d) some combination thereof.

If the subject of civil war isn’t enough to keep the average readers interest for just a moment longer than usual, they are the ones who will suffer from it much more than they normally would.
