WEATHER NATION on Direct TV Has Local Forecasts Now
Personal Observation | 1/10/2014 | Maudeen

Posted on 02/10/2014 3:37:53 PM PST by Maudeen

During an earlier thread today many were dissatisfied with the Weather Nation because it didn't have local weather. I was able to type in my zip code a few minutes ago and there it was. In another thread I expressed my viewpoint that the Weather Channel had so much non-weather related programming and often to the left of left. I'm willing to give this channel a chance since all I want is weather. . . "pure and simple".

I just checked and it's there, set it up so now I can check the weather when I get up in the morning.

Thanks for the heads up!!

BTW, not to beat up on anyone, but do some of the on-air WeatherNation people seem a little, well, not-ready-for-print-time? Or maybe they're just being folksy (not that I could what they do....).

I will take Weather Nation any day. I just want the forecast and the radar, I don’t need global warming propaganda 24/7. Hope DirecTV keeps them and tells The Weather Channel to go play in the highway.

I have Direct TV.

TWC, AKA the global warming channel, is not missed at my house.

You might be right; however, I’d rather have the folksy than the SLICK if you know what I mean. I just like having the weather be weather so I’ll keep on watching.

If you like weather check out this too: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/forecasts/
Longer range forecasts (of course the forecasts that are months ahead are more iffy).

East coasters look at the “8-14 days” temp map: better days are coming soon!

Thanks for the info. I’m not a weather junkie. . .but I don’t like a lot of fluff and puff during the forecasting.

TWC has even cut back on the “local on the 8s” broadcasts. The only reason to watch a ‘weather channel’LOL!

You mean THE Weather Channel is no longer on Directv?????
Who would ever have known?

This new Weather Nation is like the old, pre-globull warming TWC, only better!

I hope TWC is never back.

TWC is definitely all into the Global Warming nonsense. Would not hurt me one bit to see them gone.

For some reason when I hit the red button for the local information it comes on more quickly than when on the Weather Channel. Maybe someone changed a battery in my remote but I definitely see a difference.

I think it a bit odd to name winter storms. Mix, Max, Hercules.... STRANGE! Winter happens. One snowflake is the same to me (even if they are different)

There must be some kind of government relief money for named storms.

Actually the storm naming is done by the Weather Channel.
It is part of their ideological push to promote “climate change”.

And it is working. I’ve seen internet posts by idiot youts saying things like “they had to start naming these winter storms because they’re so much worse than years ago”.
