Unlike our local police officers, the Taliban seems have let the dog live.
Odds are they will probably sell it back to the military, rather than kill it. They don’t seem to be mistreating it in the video, and they probably would do that if it was their intent to showcase their brutality.
I think they just found it funny that the US military would give a dog the rank of colonel.
Here is what may actually be happening.......Imagine the dog being the taliban and the Soldier is the tortoise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS8UXVsIiP4
Wouldn’t the military dog be tagged with a gps chip of some sort?
Doggie Ping
Years ago (1980s) in Germany...some Army MP brought his MP dog over to the vet on post. Some issue had come up. Vet took the dog and handed it to a volunteer at the vet clinic. After the procedure was done...the vet told the volunteer to walk the dog behind the clinic (wooded area). Well...no one went into detail...that the dog ought to be on a leash. So they get back there....and the volunteer tosses a frisbee out toward a open field on the side of the building. The dog ran over....picked up the frisbee....then started running for free ground at the opposite side....full speed. Dog never returned. They had five or six people out looking for the dog that day...and several returned the next day....but the dog was never seen again. They had to write up a report for the Army audit folks to explain how the dog “disappeared”.
Let’s hope he holds up under interrogation. There is no indication that he has barked yet.
We need to launch a rescue campaign for this soldier. Release the hounds —
