I recall an amusing old Limelighters ditty about a Communist who dies, is upset that he can’t do any effective organizing in Heaven, so he drifts down and becomes First People’s Commissar of Soviet Hell.
Did Seeger ever record this song?
I thought it was the Kingston Trio! Anyway, the last line went,
“If you want to be a Bolshevik, you’ll have to go to hell!”
Comrade Seeger wouldn’t have touched that with a ten foot hammer & sickle.
