A rescue mission for a ship trapped in ice in Antarctica is under threat as reports have emerged that one of the assisting vessels may itself be stuck.

Fifty-two passengers and four crew members were due to be evacuated by helicopter from China's Xue Long ship as soon as conditions allowed.

However, the Xue Long has barely moved in a day and may be stuck in the ice.

I’d also like to see the fools responsible pay for it.

Me too, especially watching their skype video and they think this is all fun and games.

I think wintering over would give them a full appreciation of their "global warming."

maybe al gore can send one million cows there, let them fart for about 48 hours, and then the fumes will melt the ice that is holding that ship/or ships hostage.

A trip to Antarctica has been on my bucket list ever since I met a marine biologist in New Zealand who had just “wintered over” on the continent (in November, the southern “Spring”).The stories she told were riveting and someday I'm gonna go there even if I have to *swim*.

The helicopter portion will be chump change compared to the cost of operating and saving the two stuck ships.

Maybe we can send the idiots from MSNBC to free the two stuck ships, then they can all be stuck together and rot there

and maybe we can send Al Roker there, and he can just jump on the ice, maybe that will help.

Wonder how big a carbon footprint is being made by these noble environmentalists and the ships that are burning fuel to rescue them.

What? NO champagne bottles! They should be celebrating.

Book deals and appearance fees await them.

The captain of the stuck Chinese ship will probably be shot.
