An adult woman could not handle a gesture of unwanted affection from a teen boy? Really? In a place where she knew she was safe? When he was not being violent or verbally threatening? Liberal women are wusses.

First off was it consensual? Did the 17 year old “child” ask permission? I don’t have problems with students and teachers displaying innocent affection but there has to be consent or it’s kinda creepy when you get to the age of this student, and wasn’t there a story not long ago about a an adult woman teacher that was slaughtered by a teen boy somewhere where she thought she was safe? I don’t agree with the harshness of the punishment but I can understand her discomfort. And by the way when I went to high school, a millennia ago, it would be unheard of for a male student to hug a female teacher or a female student to hug a male teacher at high school age, just not proper, but I guess times change.

Oh I totally get her discomfort. She was at school in the classroom and the young man was not being threatening even if he was being creepy. I meant that she should have very loudly told him “Do not touch me. Take your hands off me or I will hurt you.” Then follow through with a swift jab to whatever vulnerable spot was within reach if he did not do so immediately. She should be able to convey her opinion of his actions without having to wait to submit a complaint to the administration.
