I don’t have a lot of knowledge about guns but while I was looking for a .40 caliber revolver, the only one I could find was a Taurus. When I asked some of the guys behind the counter at Cabelas, they said Taurus makes handguns with inferior alloys. This dissuaded me from buying one. Had anyone else had an issue with their Taurus weapons or heard about problems like this?

I've put a lot of shells through mine with no issues whatsoever. My wife carries a S&W .38 which I love as well...it's tiny.

I have owned/fired several Taurus revolvers over the last 10 years or so and I think they are absolutely great. Their modern guns are well made, reasonably priced, and they have a 100% warranty on everything they sell, although I have never had a need to test that, as they all performed perfectly. And I do know that they manufacture some guns for Rossi, but I don’t know exactly which ones.

Taurus used to be owned by the same company that made S&W, and were somehow related to Beretta. That is why so many of their guns look like Berettas and S&W.

I’ve often heard Rossi were junk, but I have never owned one and don’t know about it.

You might look up the guarantee for the Taurus handguns.

I would like to know the metalurgical training Cabela’s provides for their gun counter clerks.

Currently
9mm 24/7 compact gen1
9mm 24/7 Pro OSS gen1
45acp 24/7 compact gen2
Raging Bull 8 3/4” 45 long colt
M44 8 3/4” 44mag
Judge 45/410

And I’m looking for a Taurus 9mm wheel gun for a decent price.

Prior
PT92

Never had an issue with any of them. Went bang every time.
Some were purchased new, some used.
Lifetime warranty yet i’ve never needed to use it.
Relatively cheap

I own several other handguns from several different manufacturers and have had issues with all but one (ruger MK1)
