I just got a Foscam FI8905W, it uses wifi
also hooked into a cloud based recorder which i can trigger events.
i have them sending emails on alerts as well as to an ftp site.

Working theory, using your smartphone to monitor your property real time. When alarm is triggered, you will get notified with phone call, also text message (SMS), you will receive the snapshots from IP camera to verify alarm.
Btw, the system requires a SIM card to run.
