With fitness, I’d say baby steps are better. If you try and change too much too fast, your body will fight you on it.
I’ve been exercising during my lunch breaks at work. The first week, that meant walking back and forth down the hall. Later it meant crossing the skywalk and looping around both elevators. Eventually I added some slow stair-climbing into the mix. This week I managed to run up 4 flights of stairs without stopping! I was completely winded, but I did it! Considering that not too long ago I couldn’t walk at all, this is amazing. But if I’d tried to go straight from the wheelchair to running stairs, I would have hurt myself and ended up back in the wheelchair and even worse off than I started. I had to take it slow, and pay attention so I wouldn’t do too much. And what mainly started as me just trying to deal with my deskside restlessness, has turned into real progress.
OH WOW!! THAT IS FABULOUS!!! KUDOS!!!
