For some reason the lumens value is not accurately potrayed on the energy saver light bulbs. Go buy an incadescent bulb and an energy saver bulb with the same lumens rating and screw them in and tell me which is brighter? Incadescent every time. Have done this to test it myself.

I guess this is like the water saving commodes that require you to flush them twice instead of once...

I took out the CFL bulbs I had put in as an experiment, and replaced them with halogen bulbs. I prefer halogen light to incandescent, and MUCH prefer over CFL.

CFL bulbs produce an odd light that I find irritating.

Have done this to test it myself.

Did you wait for the energy saver bulb to attain full brightness? It takes about 5-10 minutes.
