“In our fight for our rights, there is only black and white, there is no shade of gray.”
I would like to re-think this statement, because for most Americans, we have been caught in “gray” beginning in 1934, and doubly so since 1968. There are many miles to go before we get back as states and as a nation, into the “white”.
Right now we still live in a federal gun control regime, so our argument is not to defend our gains as much as it is to increase them.
In this, full “Arizona” gun liberty is not an extreme of liberty, it is barely at the midpoint between gun control and gun liberty. We, as individuals, states and a nation, need to go far beyond that to recover our natural rights.
We do need to always protect and defend what we have, but that does not mean for a moment we can pause in demanding more.
This shows that they did not know or understand who their readers/customers are.
The end result is Mr. Metcalf is no longer with Guns&Ammo In addition The editor who published it, Mr. Jim Bequette is stepping down and his position will be taken over by Eric Poole.
This shows that they have learned.
You and this Texan also. I suggested a few things as I cancelled. They probably didn’t like them.
Agreed. What a moron. Doesn’t even know what “regulated” means in context, yet thinks he’s qualified to spend all that paper and ink blathering.
He’s right. That was just him.
That didn’t take long. Individual rights ARE America. Once you start to place the state above the individual America is dead.
Good riddens.
I used to a subscriber to Gun Dog magazine until falling on hard times. I noticed over the past year that editors have been ‘retiring’ or quitting.
Now I know why. It’s owned by the same person who owns G&A.
A lot of people don’t understand the concept that the power resides with the people, not the govt.
Blast from the past:
“You, our faithful readers, will fight tooth and nail to defend the Second Amendment, and any statement that can be construed as a betrayal of trust will be taken quite seriouslywe can assure you, we didnt need that reminder.”
Guns and Ammo Magazine, 9/13/2012
Apparently they did actually need a reminder...
Was Bequette asleep? What the hell was Metcalf thinking?
The concealed carry permit is becoming a defactor gun license. Many people think you have to have one to own a firearm. Nearly every article about a lawful use of a firearm will say the owner was licensed or the gun was registered.
Then those people aren't very smart and probably should look to their more informed friends and neighbors for guidance.
Dick Metcalf has had a long and distinguished career as a gun writer...
That sounds familiar.
Vidkun Quisling has had a long and distinguished career as a Norwegian diplomat...
No argument there, however they will protest less when the politicians try to push thru their “common sense” laws.
Especially after G&A supports “common sense” laws.
Given his claimed pedigree and experience, the ill-educated nature of his statements come off as non-sequitur.
I know he wrote the Firearms Law column for 14 years. Heck, I read it. He claims to have taught constitutional law/history seminars and helped Neal Knox write the McClure Volkmer FOPA.
He would have certainly come across the many historical facts, opinions, writings, and analogies that outright eviscerate his sophmoric assertions...not once, but hundreds of times. This asinine opine sounds like the nasal drip of Chuckles Schumer or Barbarian Boxer
This looks like suicide not by cop, but by copy! Metcalf may have some mental condition...or just wanted to trip some contractual payout clause G&A had to make to fire him.
Bluntly put, I knew Neal Knox and can guarantee Knox would have skinned this type of pig ignorant surrender monkey wimp talk right out of him in 5 minutes.
Glad to see Metcalf go after this.....I really like G&A. It is like getting the Sears Christmas catalog every month!
Good.
I may have to resubscribe after this.
