I think I am the greatest grower of Seven Top Turnips in the world. On the day I transplanted so many plants I grew from seed, I was worn out when I planted these little turnip plants and didn’t plant them in enough soil in a plastic grow bag and didn’t think to stick a plant identifier in them. Later, I realized I didn’t know what plant was in there and they looked very small and like nothing.
Through a process of elimination, I thought they must be turnips. After I bought a large square container, I transplanted them in a hurry, thinking they were done for anyway. Well, they have taken off and every day they get really, really, bigger. Taller and the leaves get bigger, bigger.
If they keep growing like this, I’ll get a medal for growing turnips. :o)
Honey,
I am so very happy for you and your turnips! (If I couldn’t be an onion when I’m reincarnated, I’d be a turnip!) One of my old buddies passed off turnip sticks as jicama when we had a potluck at one of my old jobs! Good stuff!
