MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell took excuse making for the Obama administration on healthcare.gov to a new level Monday on The Last Word.
O’Donnell criticized Republicans for harping on Obamacare glitches while supporting the over budget F-22 program which he claimed has never flown in a combat mission
At the conclusion of his predictably trollish, nonsensical comparison O’Donnell smugly concluded at least the Obamacare website is working better than an F-22:
LAWRENCE O’DONNELL: None of the Republican cheer leaders for the sink hole of government waste that the F-22 is mentioned any of the Defense Department’s massive failures in the attacks on the website for the affordable care act, which though shakey is still working better than an F-22 fighter jet.
O’Donnell’s expertise on the efficacy of the F-22 is probably news to the Obama appointed Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh who in September said “When the combatant commander wants air power there is only one number to call” in reference to the F-22.
Additionally, while the Raptor has never been officially deployed in combat, the stealth fighter made waves in a well publicized incident with an Iranian F-4 Phantom and a U.S. drone last spring:
In March, an Iranian F-4 flew within 16 miles of an MQ-1 Predator flying off the coast of Iran until a previously undisclosed aircraft escorted the Predator to safety. It turns out that aircraft was an F-22, the Air Force’s fifth generation fighter.
“Did you guys see the news clip not long ago about the Iranian F-4s that intercepted a remotely-piloted aircraft out over the Arabian Gulf, and then they were warned off?” [Welsh asked].
“[The Raptor poliot] flew under their aircraft to check out their weapons load without them knowing that he was there, and then pulled up on their left wing and then called them and said ‘you really ought to go home.’”
Given a choice of signing up for Obamacare or an F-22, I’ll take the F-22, thankyouverymuch.
Given the choice of paying for Obamacare or paying for 100 more F22s, I’d take the the F22s. F22s are what make us strong, not socialism. Socialism makes us weak like cancer.
On the other hand, if O’Donnell had said “multi role F-35 joint strike fighter” instead of “F-22”, O’Donnell might have had a case.
Of course, democrats supported the F-35 and supported terminating further production of the F-22, so I guess he could not say that.
O’Donnell is too stupid to be an idiot.
About the same as some individual F-22 fighters.
Somewhere out there is video footage of O’Donnell telling a reporter he (the reporter) didn’t attend the Bilderberg meeting in 2011 after he (the reporter) claimed he did. Was he assuming the reporter went to Switzerland without any sort of video/audio equipment or is he so used to making up “reality” on tv that the act leaks out into real life?
This told me all I need to know about ol’ Larry. He’s a very angry man who can become unhinged at the drop of a hat and will tell any lie, no matter how absurd, without blinking an eye. There’s something legitimately wrong with O’Donnell beyond being a DefCon 2 level horse’s arse.

Coulter's self adoration is creepy. I have seen her in several off camera rants.
That being said, she has one of the finest minds I've ever seen navigate the complexities of modern politics in a snap. If she'd learn some humility and modesty she could be sitting her boney a$$ in the whitehouse oval office rather quickly.
