Vanity: Sounds like we're going to default

Just saw the statement from Pelosi.. that the bill the House is putting on the floor is "a decision to default"

Sounds like an out and out rejection to me.

The Republicans couldn't give much more!!! WTF!

This reminds me of when Israel gave Yasir Arafatass EVERYTHING... and they STILL rejected it.

If the Dems make us default- and the media wasn’t able to hide that- the media will say default’s a wonderful thing.

Might be worth it to hear that narrative...

(Don’t expect a default.)

I’m expecting us to default.. because Obama wants us to default.

Then I fully expect him to attempt to blame the default on Republicans.

This guy is no mystery anymore. You can see his political moves from a mile away.

What was it Szu Tzu said about anger.. Yep!

Failure to lift the debt limit does not equal default.

Yes they are two different things.

We have the money in order to avoid default. If we default it will be because Obama CHOSE to.

Much like the National Parks, etc.

Good! We need to stop this illegal welfare state and not pass it on to our children!

I believe that Mark would agree that if given the choice between violating the 14th Amendment or violating Article I (and unilaterally raising the debt ceiling), obama will choose the latter.

From paragraph 5 of Amendment 14 to the U.S. Constitution"

The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.

It appears our "Contitutional scholar" would have to defy the Constitution in order to engineer a default.

But, we all know that he will always follow the law. /sarc

That would be nothing to him. He defies the Constitution before his morning piss on most days I am sure.

They plan to start an economic fire and blame it on the Republicans. Just like Hitler did with the Reichstag.

Agreed. The regime and their co-conspirators have been setting the table for quite a while.

No one cares what Obama wants.
If his masters are positioned to make more money from a rise in treasury rates then he will certainly try to default.

However that can be thwarted by Republicans ‘surrendering’- which would then mean huge losses for his masters.

In conclusion his masters are not positioned to profit from a default so there won’t be one.

It’s just too risky to bet against Republicans surrendering!

I have a different take. I’ve never seen this sort of brinksmanship “crisis” get solved before the 11th hour (and the 59th minute). It’s all part of the “art of the deal”. Both sides think that whatever deal they can get now, they can get a better one if they wait. I’ve always seen it work this way. My prediction is that it will go down to the wire and then they’ll breathlessly announce that a miraculous way has been found to crawl back from the abyss.

Hmm you make valid points here.

My point is.. I’ve seen him do things and operate purely out of anger. Such anger that it hurts him politically but he doesn’t seem to care.

Depending on what kind of reign his masters have over him.
