That it is but I am somewhat worried (hopefully I'm wrong) about the web server engine that underlies Free Republic. It's called NGINX and is a Russian-based software project. Here's their logo, complete the red star and other symbols of the Cold War and the Soviet era:
I realize that Russia is now better than it was a few ago with Putin standing up against the sodomites but I still have a measure of distrust for that country. I've pinged some of the tech experts here, as well as Jim, to possibly allay my fears of a backdoor planted by the Russians in NGINX. They used to use Apache for web services which is based in Maryland. The change was made a few months back IIRC.
