Oh puhleeeeze....I’ve had sales clerks (and auto dealership salesmen) obviously not want to “waste time” on me when I was interested in looking at something expensive—something more expensive than the salesperson thought would be in my price range. And I’m white. It’s definitely not a racial thing unless the salespersons dealing with me were in the habit of discriminating against German/Scots-Irish mix folks.
Exactly. I used to run a meat packing plant and I dressed in clothing appropriate for that kind of work. One year on Christmas Eve I had yet to buy my wife a present and went to a nearby jewelry store to get her something. I couldn't get anyone to even acknowledge me. When I was younger and drove an older, crappy car I wanted to finally get a new one. Drove onto the car lot and 3 salesmen chatted while I looked at cars. None ever came over to see if I wanted to buy a car!
