Three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart was involved in a four-car wreck Monday night and left Southern Iowa Speedway in an ambulance. Stewart-Haas Racing announced that Stewart broke the tibia and fibula in his right leg and underwent surgery at a local hospital.

I was an F1 snob in the 80s early 90s until Nigel left.
Late 90s my Dad and I used to go twice a month up to Southern WI to watch 410 winged sprints. I miss watching them; 410’s racing are hard to find anywhere close.
The sound and smell of those wicked fast cars makes for a great evening.
Ok, what is JR’s history, maybe it is him I remember not being a road racing fan.
He’s a huge road race fan, runs go karts all the time here in Indiana on road courses.
The guy will race anything with 4 wheels anytime anywhere LOL.

I grew up watching that stuff. Lou Blaney, etc. Sharon Speedway in Ohio. My dad was really into it. They used to go to Iowa every year when he was working and had some spare scratch.
I think Dave Blaney bought that speedway, I don’t know it’s been so long since I’ve seen a race. Not really my thing, my dad is the racing nut. Last time I saw one was out east of Dallas, Mesquite or something, I can’t remember but he was coming down and wanted to plan his trip around a race, so I went.
Fun stuff for sure, I just have kids that are very into sports and don’t really have time for that.

Hambone, Smoke, rough years.. altho they would tell you they are having the times of their lives.
Smoke would just take out a 20M insurance policy on himself and say is this good enough? The guy loves dirt track. Most of the drivers race on their local tracks because these people are their friends and that’s what they love to do.
Expecting them to stop local racing is ridiculous.
