A bone scan a year or so ago revealed no osteoporosis in my spine or hip, however, the scan revealed early stages of osteopenia in my hip, so I was prescribed Avista, which I will not take. I have been taking 680 mg strontium every morning on an empty stomach. It's supposed to halt osteoporosis and even rebuild lost bone. I'm hoping my next scan will show improvement.

I form kidney stones - both kinds, evidently according to my doc - so I have been very leery of taking calcium supplements. The only calcium I will take is the Cal-Mag Supreme by Solray which is balanced and has boron and other supporting minerals and herbs.

So then I should be working up to and ultimately leveling off at about 1600 mg. calcium/day and 800 mg. magnesium/day because you need to double the amount of calcium compared to magnesium? Oh, I also take 3,000 units Vit. D3 as well. Thanks.

Did you hear about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac? He lies awake at night wondering if there is a Dog.

osteoporosis

No magnesium effect noted here. Calcium dependence, I guess.

That I don’t know but the crystallization of calcium in the body is due to insufficient stores of mag to dissolve it.

according to the definition (and I don’t know anything about it) strontium is calcium or has the make up of it.

be very careful supplementing with calcium as, mentioned earlier, we get a lot of it in our diets and it can wreak havoc on our health if we’re not supplementing with mag.

This country has a deficit of mag as we used to fertilize with it and we’ve overfarmed the soil. Among other things that deplete it in our systems including stress.

I personally would not supplement with calcium. If you continue to do so I would flip the ratios; 2 to 1 of mag to calcium. If you have blood work done have it tested for D and see where you’re at then recheck in a few months. I had to go off D because my levels were very high due to taking mag. Mag makes it absorb. I live in FLA so I Get a lot of D naturally.

Interesting. Thanks.

Have read some thoughts that the body deposits calcium to cement fungal spores.

Hard work regulates sleep.

No, it doesn't.

Hard work makes one tired it does not regulate sleep. The two things aren't even related.

Never know anyone who did a day of hard work had a problem sleeping.

I say you are a sanctimonious liar.

A full 20% of American's suffer from chronic insomnia and it has nothing to do with hard work. To say you have never met a hard working insomniac is a lie.

Ignorant posters like you give conservatives a bad name.

It appears you suffer from a lack of education due to a very low IQ. Perfect self description though.

I stand by the fact you are a liar.
