And once again we learn internet buzz != dollars in the pocket. Which we should have learned with Snakes on a Plane, and Serenity, heck there was a whole South Park episode about it.

It was a Z-movie from The Asylum - the home of Z-movies.
I’ll bet “Sharknado” made “Plan 9 From Outer Space” look like “The Empire Strikes Back”.

People are not giving this a chance.
I mean, sharks....in a tornado. Nevermind the science! Does it need more than that????

Don’t blame me, my power was out.

My bud works for the Asylum, only when they need him. Just like known writers changing their names to write porno flicks during hiatus, he does it because it’s more fun than working for say Legendary’.

I also watched it with my son (well, back and forth with the Cubs-Cards game). It was so bad, it was great! My son followed the twitter feeds. Best comment was: “Those of us who watched it sober really missed out.”

It was painfully bad as was the movie on just before it.

That’s cool. I have no problem with Z-movies, frankly. They can be a lot of fun and a source of madcap inspiration and creativity.
Many years ago, I went to a seminar on B-movies up in Portland, OR, the speaker no one less than the King of the B-Movies, Bruce Campbell himself. It was great, and he pointed out that B-movies are not only fun, but they’re a great training ground for raw talent. Sam Raimi started in B-movies, as did Bruce Campbell himself.
Personally, I think Bruce’s best performance was in “Bubba Ho Tep”; he was really good, and genuinely believable in his role. It was like he was channeling Elvis Presley.

If you have an idea...they thought about it. You know those porn parody like Cheers’, Superman, AssVengers’ etc? Those are the same guys who moonlight at Asylum. When he was working on the Transmorphers, almost everyone on the crew had a shark/giant bird/lizard/dog idea.
