I read a book one time that posited that children, as a group, don't really grow past the 'me, me, me' stage until age 24 to 28. That's when they pay attention to a wider worldview and their contribution to it, rather then wondering 'what have you done for me lately?' The long forgotten author of this book was basing his opinion on attitudes that he observed in Western youngsters.
Asian parents, Tiger Mom or not, do not have the patience to put up with that attitude past the age of 6 or so. Kids have to contribute or someone does without. People who learn this early in life are team players without so much emphasis on the me, me, me part.
It's my thought and experience that these folks are very easy to get along with without the 'high maintenance' overtones that Western folks (Guys and girls alike) bring to the table.
The fact that so many of them are incredibly beautiful is very sweet icing on the cake.
Confucius say:
“Woman who think way to man’s heart through his stomach, have sights set too high.”
