The key is catching the ball. Pass patterns are pretty simple for tight ends - they are usually only an issue for wide receivers. This is why I mention Graham - all he brought to New Orleans were the physical tools to succeed - in two years he was All-Pro. Anyone who has watched Tebow run the ball know he has the physical tools...the only wild-card I see is whether he can catch passes at an elite level.
The initial pass patterns for TEs tend to be pretty straight forward. Where the big skill for TEs comes is blitz detection and knowing whether he should stay to block or go out to be the hot read. Tebow’s not so hot at blitz detection when he’s off the line, not sure he’ll do it better on it.
TE is not just about catching passes...MOST of the time you are BLOCKING. Unless he has beefed up significantly, TT is too small to be an NFL tight end.
Whatever. Not the same as being accosted and ending up dead in the open in a crowd melee.
Right! Someone had better tell Wes Welker he is too small for WR as well. I bet he’ll be disappointed!
I have read several articles on this case, and there are multiple things indicating he did it. If he did it, he really threw his life away. Sad.

Well as a life long Pats fan (since the franchise started). let me say the following.
If Hernandez is indicted for Obstruction of Justice he will never play for the Pats again. Gronk will placed on PUP, but will play starting in mid season, don’t think he will be at full strength this year, but will still be a ++ TE. They have plenty of options at TE. Ballard will start and then back up Gronk as the inline TE, Sudfeld will be the surprise and be the pass catching TE (Hernandez’s role). Fells & Hooman will be on the roster 1 may get cut when Gronk returns
Tebow will have a chance to develop as a back up QB for the next few years. He will have chances to show off his skills during preseason games. He could remain as a backup or go to another team to start. IMO they will keep Mallet to become the starter when Brady retires, think Rodgers/Farve or Young/Montana.
I think the Pats will develop Tebow into a serviceable NFL QB, he will be in a very good place to learn.
