Very sad. Glenn Beck is talking about this now - Vince was a friend of his and a guest on his program. Cancer is a real bastard.

Just damn. We need a real life Mitch Rapp right now to straighten out our government.

I truly hope no one here....(as I've seen lately) posts ridicule about Glenn Beck....as, even as I type, he is emotional and crying over the loss of Vince Flynn....(just now hearing this ....so sad!!).
..some here may not always agree with or care for Beck, but he has done a lot of good & educated many.

Vince Flynn was his long time friend....

I only know Flynn through his books....but I've read every one.

This man knew how much trouble our nation is in and tried to convey it through his words.

This is a huge loss.....and he was so young.

He gave up a career as account executive with Kraft to become a Marine aviator and while in OCS he learned he wouldn’t be permitted to fly because of a medical (dyslexia). He left and eventually had a successful career as writer.

I am shocked.

I got the privlidge to meet him on his last book tour. Since my name is Mitch we had a bit of small talk about the name. I also remember he took a interest in my daughter who was about the same age as his. He gave her a self defense tip to keep the boys away. I told him if she got called into the principals office he was in trouble. :-)

RIP to a great man and author.

"I’m sure Rush will mention this today..."

Glenn Beck just did a tribute to him.

That sucks. I’m one of the lucky ones. They caught mine early, and after radiation and implants, I’m cured. All males over 35 should have a PSA test, especially if there is a history in the family.

So sorry to learn of this.

A true loss to the millions of fans but most especially his wife and young children.

May the Good Lord bless and comfort his family.

Every day is a gift from God, cherish them while they are with us.

I don't remember how I came to read "Term Limits"... I think, a friend of mine from Augusta gave it to me. It ROCKED MY WORLD!

I read it again, recently... and, it was funny to see just how dramatically Vince's writing style improved...I guess a 10-11 book series will do that for you. :-)

EACH book was better than the one before.

Vince was the only author, since Michael Crighton, that I KNEW when his next book was coming out.. and, COULDN'T WAIT to get them.

Sometimes... I would hold them for a couple of weeks.. waiting to read them on long international flights. Those trips FLEW by... literally.

Sad, sad day... But, DAMNIT, I've donating money TODAY to a good friend's cancer fighting cause... The Big C is a bitch!

This disease has been stalking me for 10 years, starting at age 51.

Some other famous victims:

Dan Fogelberg (musician)
The Venezuelan tyrant.
The Pan Am Lockerbie flight bomber.

Others?

My three favorites in this genre is Flynn, Brad Thor and Daniel Silva-(who I don't place in the same caliber as patriots Flynn & Thor....but Silva writes convincingly as an Israeli spy & writes quite well)_
....Flynn's Term Limits was my first of this genre....and it was amazing.--Flynn & Thor are first class patriots with the written word.

Read all of Vince Flynn’s novels and recently tuned it to Brad Thor. “Black List” is remarkable in context to what is being revealed in the news. Consider “Term Limits” by Flynn and “Unintended Consequences” by John Ross to be required reading along with “1984” and “Brave New World”. Amazing how truth mirrors fiction.

My second favorite author behind Clancy and my favorite literary character in Mitch Rapp is no more.
Much sadness here in big red country.

Keep fighting it Cicero...I’m having a prostate biopsy next week. At 65 years old I guess it can be expected. At Vince Flynns age of 47 its not good.

Vince’s career was helped tremendously by conservative talk radio, especially Rush. I would be he personally knew all of the bigs, including Glenn.
