We got a "natural gas tankless" water heater several years ago. Absolutely love it, plenty of hot water, lower electric bills, but maybe you don't have gas.

Cost a bit more initially, but has more than paid for itself in reduced monthly bills. Heat only when and what you need, and you NEVER RUN OUT of hot water!
