Still need parents (especially the father in the traditional role) to teach self control. The lack of it among the hordes of welfare victims is a testament to that fact, and it is a great indictment of the “abolish the traditional family” leftists.

We were raised on please and thank you and respect from when we were tots. We were neat and clean. It was developing all around good habits. And the majority of those teaching chores went to mom.

I'm not sure of your age, but dad's role in the 50's was bread winner and protector. I don't ever remember my dad even raising his voice to us.

The problem now is sending the kids to school at age 3 and the teachers. Simply too many cooks in the kitchen.
