OK that’s one way to do it, cut a ‘2008’ stamp, discard the ‘20’, and use the flipped ‘08’ to make the ‘80’.

But what if the 2008 stamp had two separate parts, the ‘20’ and the ‘08’, and normally one would pull out the ‘08’ when the year turned.

Then someone could have taken the ‘20’ section out, flipped the ‘08’, and stuck the ‘08’ in the slot for the last two digits of the year.

Then the alignment would show as I indicated in my post.

Same result, different method.
