Magnolia, TX. I used to drive through there communting home. The driver was an idiot. Thank God no one was killed, but somebody’s double wide was way late. There’s another video (posted down the line) from the other side.
My boy is an engineer and runs into this stupidity all the time (pun intended).
He was on a run up in Idaho one time when they hit a sugar beet truck that tried to beat the train at a crossing. Said it was like incoming artillery as the beets hit the cab window.
He was a conductor at the time and the engineer was yelling “OmiGawd, I’ve killed him!” My boy said, “No, he’s over there.” pointing to the cab window. The driver was looking inside with eyes as big as saucers. When they hit the truck, the cab slewed sideways so it was alongside the engine.
Turned out the guy was unlicensed, just hired at $8 an hour by some company trying to cut costs.
A number of years ago I was on an Amtrak train when it hit a semi-truck. Was not a pleasent experience.
