A mother says she is devastated, after hidden cameras captured caregivers physically abusing her adult disabled son. Its hard for me to forgive myself that I took my son and put him in their hand, like you take your son to hell, Kathy Coleman says.
Caregivers were recorded by hidden cameras kicking and punching her son Cameron, stomping on his face, spitting on him, whipping him with a chain and threatening him, possibly even shooting him with a pellet gun.
My son is sick. Does he deserve this? Coleman asks. Cameron is a 31-year-old man with autism. He doesnt speak and has the IQ of a 3-year-old boy, Kathy says.
People who pick on the weak are the lowest form of scum. What more can be said? Lock them up and throw away the key.
I agree. If the story is true they should spend a very long time in prison.
I wish I could but I have a dial-up modem. That is all that is available here unless I want to pay through the nose for satellite.
I guess you are saying the story is true. If so it literally almost brings me to tears that someone could be treated that way.
The video said the state is paying 18K a month to the facility.
For that much money each family could hire three people full time for respite care, and pay them VERY well with full benefits - the staffers usually get paid $10-12/hour if working for a private contractor, somewhat more for the state.
The perps wont spend much, if any, time in prison, though.
Because investigating and punishing all those involved in wrongdoing would be...wait for it...RACIST!
Can’t force dishonest healthcare companies to perform simple cursory background checks on entry level employees with primary access to helpless, disabled people, can we?
The “system” is already overloaded from checking on the daily activities of citizens who are registered voters in the “wrong party”.
This is why we are preparing as best we can to give our son a home before we die, and to arrange for only FAMILY MEMBERS to take care of him. We are going to hope, anyway ...
Just do not want to rely on government, or any outside “agencies” of any kind to take care of him, EVER. I know in my heart they will not care for him like family can.
I really feel sorry for the Mother having to know what they were doing to her child.
People think that caregivers should be nice. That isolated people in isolated environments should be nice.
They arent. That is why our forefathers and mothers put the mentally retarded in large centers. Where there were a lot of eyes watching. Was there some bad happening then. Yes, but not so much as there is now.
The son of an illegal immigrant asks his dad, Dad, whats democracy?
Well, son, thats when the Americans work and we get all the benefits from it!
But Dad, arent the American people unhappy about that?
Sure they are son, but thats called racism.
This is so true. If my 18 year old son with autism does not live at home, he will live in what is left of the state residential homes (only a couple). These small private places are scandalous privateers with minimal oversight, often staffed by criminals and illegals.
evil low life creeps, I am glad they are headed for prison
