The boy who put the ball in the wrong hoop will likely be the subject of some good-natured ribbing by his teammates for some time to come and while I'm sure they were not too happy about losing a game they should have won, they will look back at this and laugh.
Over time, this will prove to be a positive life experience for the boy. He'll have quite a story to tell his grandkids and he'll have a YouTube video to back his story up.

Good natured? Maybe. Back when I was in HS, if a player did something like that they wouldn’t dare show their face in school for at least a week. And they would never be forgiven for it.
