the MIGHTY that has fallen is.. Free Republic. It's been years since we had a server capable of supporting a LIVE THREAD... I've really missed it. Huh? I've participated on scores of live threads on FR in the last few years. I think I've only seen the site choke up once during that time.
She may be old and cranky, and held together with duct tape and rubber bands, but she gets the job done for the most part.
I agree with you that a serious hardware upgrade is long overdue, and hopefully, John's new installation will make a difference. According to Jim, the server in place now is just temporary until the gear John wants arrives later.
