After a lifetime of being a Republican, I'm leaving the GOP and registering as a Democrat. Why? I've tried to change the GOP from within, wiht little luck, so I figure it's time I help to change the Democrat Party from within....

I like Rubio and Jindal but..

I'm not ready to trust Rubio. Something about him leaves me wary.
Jindal I like but he has zero 'presence'. No chance at all.
Ryan? He seems to have wilted.

I don't see anyone, but then I've not looked very hard.

We are pushing this entire “minority” skin color immigrant thing to hard.

We need to regroup and get on message.
We are not about skin color, we are about FREEDOM.

As a thought experiment, it’s interesting. As a serious proposal, it’s a total non starter.

What we really need to do is concentrate conservatives in states so we have decisive voter advantages solid enough to do the complete opposite of what liberal states are doing - and challenge the federal government (ignore its rules, etc). Basically, red states need to go so low tax, regulation and as purely free market as we can so that the blue states lose so many businesses and productive people that they literally can’t fund their social welfare states.

Sounds good & I'd go for the immigration angle if I could. But, "evening the playing field" in Lib-speak would simply mean finding better ways to tax the red states & redistribute income to the blue states.

That's been done before and led to a dust up over onership of a small island in Charlston harbor.

Sorry, posted too soon.
Adding population to the red states is probably desirable, however, simply a broad and deep increase in registered Independents, drawn from both parties, could force them to reevaluate/reverse their leftward drift.

Your having figured out what the libs are up to is an assessment which needed mentioning. This is exactly what the liberals are doing while infiltrating red states with more democRAT voters. I like you pray there will be no dust kicked up when states realize what is taking place though regrettably as more states see mass migrations occur of democRAT voters what remains of the population voting no to give away all resources within that state am wondering if that segment of the population providing for the takers would remain still. Is doubtful and honestly could not blame them for not remaining still, though would not make me happy if it came to that point.

Non-takers providing for takers does reach a breaking point. Am complete in an understanding of such. Sometimes the takers themselves rise up and cause the havoc. Is not a place, in our History as a Nation, anyone sane want to return to. Am not an advocate of a return to insanity for our nation and our nation has remained sane through some tough times. It would be wonderful should going through these tough times cause our nation to reassess peacefully and implement solutions to the insanity of our present. I will remain in prayer such takes place.

You CAN’T change the Democratic Party. It is what it is.

Why not join the Nazi party to change that from within?

One and the same.

I agree. It must be so incredibly difficult to even pick a “conservative” out of the whole damn bunch.

Have you contacted any state legisators, about this issue? About half of IL voters, I know, think that we should have wide-open primaries. In Feb. 2002, I heard a radio talk show host say, “I want to vote for John Cox, for the U.S. Senate; and Paul Vallas, for governor, but I can’t do that because Illinois has a stupid primary system that requires you to choose one party, during each primary!!”

Nice dream. I have bad news.

The commie Dems are signing up immigrants and welfare kids and government school brainwashed yutes at a much higher rate than we could possibly achieve by jumping ship to the Democratic Party to influence their outcome.

You are being demographically outgunned. The writing is on the wall.

Our fall began when we ceased to be a moral, infomed electorate. The immoral idiots are calling the shots now that we passed the 50% tipping point.

Nothing can save this nation short of a Constitutional amendment restricting the vote to property owners and tax payers. Like that could happen.

It’s over.
