Niteowl77 and myself both drive Subarus because they are good AWD "bangs for the buck" in a hilly area having about 5 months of unpredictable Winter weather. We are the antithesis of the "stereotypical" SUB owner, and in this particular neck of the woods, one is far more likely to see leftist/LGBT/greenie stickers on a Toyota than anything else.

(The only self-promoting wiccan in evidence here drives a Ford... go figure.)

I actually like the CVT in my Impreza, but then again I don't demand anything but ease of use and mild manners out of my work-and-back car. The thing gets great mileage in the Summer, but the numbers drop like a rock when low temps and winter blend gasoline are in play.

I am making my new Subaru’s first “road trip” by coming to “Machine Shed(Des Moines)” and driving to Ogden and Boone on the 16th Feb.
