THAT was a pretty impressive snare line! You might like this...I was in the Navy in the mid-seventies, and they still let you have some individuality...I worked on the flight deck, so I made a stencil for the back of my flight deck jerseys and used black spray paint to put this on the jersey:
I suspect they wouldn't let me do that nowadays!

tell the stupids that the reason that marching bands performed so well at half time is that the marched and stayed warm, did not need a stage or giant sounds system, and they were entertaining, modest and talented.
Bring back the marching bands. I miss Sousa!

I have a vague recollection of watching what I think was a championship game in the mid-60s at Lambert Field with snow flying, you could barely see the ground. I know it was over at least by New Years for the Giants then, too, because I recall my younger and charmingly ditzy sister going to a New Year’s party and upon her return noting that a “football guy, Whitey Piddle” was there. It was Y.A. Tittle.
