I also have cut going to the range. I just can't justify throwing lead down a drain with all the uncertainty now. I shoot well enough so I'm just cutting out my fun. Obama has cast a pawl over the whole country now. No one is allowed to enjoy life anymore. I spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about things that are out of my control. Just since January, my health insurance is up $300 a month, house insurance up $25 a month, Directv up $7 a month, car insurance, cell phone, and of course food. Buying a $50 box of bullets, if you can get one, is just tough on a retiree. I do reload my own, but buying lead and powder is still tough and primers are as scarce as anything.

I'm basically confined to stockpiling ammo and storing food. 4 more years is going to be tough for me. All I have to look forward to is 2014. I'm praying for a complete blowout of the Senate. IMO, Bammy could even get impeached if we got the votes. Right now, he's almost a dictator and the Senate would still say "not guilty".

Black powder and BP substitutes still seem available, pick up an 1858 New Army Remington replica and spare cylinders(you can mail order them to boot) and use that for the “fun gun”. Cheap as heck and you can make the balls or bullets (Lee has a conical mold for percussion revolver bullets) from old wheel weights and scrap lead too!
