I think this is great! I lived, for years, in a complex that allowed pets. The policy (and not to mention - good neighborly action) of cleaning up after your pet was well known and communicated not only in the lease, but also monthly in print. The number of people that just didn’t give a crap about their neighbors, or the fact that other people walked through common grassy areas, was staggering. It really ticked me off to step in a pile of crap when stretching for a run. CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PETS!!!

I agree with you completely, as both a runner and a lover of dogs who walks them often. I am never without poop bags, there are in a container that attaches to the leash. I don’t care where they poop along the way, it could be an unimproved piece of land next to the sidewalk or it could be in someone’s yard, it gets picked up immediately.

The piles of poop are everywhere, and I see people walking their dogs all of the time with no apparent way to pick it up if they should “go.” My sister lived in an apartment where the problem was unbelievable. Nice landscaping and grass, but poop everywhere. They had a policy to pick up after your pet and they even provided the bags in dispensers that where conveniently located throughout the complex, but seemingly everyone ignored the policy. It was disgusting.
