He said I needed to strengthen my left hand grip - which made sense, my right side was overpowering my left side - hence the 7 o’clock.

You think I’ll have a hard time fixing this? There wasn’t much recoil - he said I was doing muzzle flip and too jerky pulling the trigger.

Yesterday was the first time I’ve ever shot except for a long time ago when I had a 20 gauge Baretta and we went skeet shooting.

Not if you really want to, before it becomes a habit. Practice and concentrate for each shot, the shot should come as a surprise as you ease the trigger rearwards. Think and feel your position to help strengthen your muscle memory. This is something overcome by smart practice. Your instructor knows what he is doing and is right about what you're doing, through practice, so will you.
